His professional experience has enabled him work with diverse local and international teams in multinational companies across Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda.

BIOGRAPHY OF KENNETH ESENWAH

Kenneth Esenwah is an astute Sales and Marketing professional with great commercial sense, excellent networking and communication skills and over 27 years experience in the Telecommunications, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods and Renewable Energy industry. His professional experience has enabled him work with diverse local and international teams in multinational companies across Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda.

His professional career started at the Nigerian Bottling Company as a Trainee Sales Manager and thereafter became a Sales Manager where he recorded milestones including the placement of coolers and ice chest freezers in Onitsha market and other markets in Eastern Nigeria; ensured the adherence to planogram and placement of this equipment in high traffic areas; set-up of 2 depots in Enugu plant and set-up of the Markurdi manufacturing plant as well as all the sales structures and RTM strategy.

Afterwards, he joined Wonder Foods (now Promasidor) Nigeria Limited as Area Sales Manager (East and West Regions), where his achievements include the successful launch of Cowbell powdered milk and sachets into the Nigerian market and launch of Cowbell Mathematics competition in Nigeria which has become a household name in the Educational sector in Nigeria. He subsequently joined Guinness Nigeria Plc as Head of Customer/Trade Marketing where he was recruited to set up and drive trade and customer activities to ensure the company gain competitive advantage and ensure Guinness win at point of purchase. His achievements include the launch of Gordon Spark, Guinness Smooth, relaunch of the Harp brand and launch of off-trade sales. Afterwards, he joined Globacom Nigeria Limited as Head of Post-paid and Zonal Manager and later joined CV Communications Limited as Chief Sales Officer.

Subsequently he was recruited by Mobitel Nigeria Limited as Sales Director and successfully achieved the set-up of the 1st WIMAX telecommunication service in Nigeria.

Afterwards he joined Smile Communications Nigeria Limited as General Manager, Sales & Distribution and his achievements include the successful pioneer and  launch of Nigeria’s first truly 4G LTE Broadband company; set-up and development of all the sales channels: Retail, Direct, Ecommerce, Corporate, Indirect channel; the launched of Smile VoLTE on 1st August 2016; pioneered the set-up of Smile call centers and set-up of the KPIs and training of staff in line with Nigerian Communications Commission standard. Today Smile has continued to grow and has become the best truly 4G LTE Broadband telecommunication company in Africa.

Afterwards he joined Solar Energy by D. Light as Director of Sales where he successfully set-up the RTM strategy and created sales channels and territories in Nigeria for selling Dlight products. Shortly afterwards in joined Lafarge Holcim as Marketing Director.

Kenneth Esenwah graduated from the prestigious University of Benin with a degree in Political Science and thereafter obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the foremost Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

During the course of his professional career, Kenneth Esenwah was awarded by the Nigerian Bottling Company in 1992 as a Professional in Basic Management, successfully trained and awarded by Emmanuel George & Associates on Finance Skills for Sales Executives the same year. In 1999 he was successfully trained on Performance Management/Appraisal System Development by Michael Stevens and Associates and thereafter he was trained on Time Management and Personal Effectiveness by Arthur Andersen. The same year, he successfully completed a training on Communications Improvement Techniques by Tom Associates. In the year 2000, Kenneth Esenwah was certified by the Nigerian Institute of Marketing having successfully undergone a training on Marketing Management and thereafter in June of the same year, he was elected a Graduate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing. In addition, in 2001 he successfully completed a course with the Lagos Business School on Effective Trade Marketing Focus. Thereafter he was successfully trained and certified by Wonder Foods Nigeria Limited in November 2001 having undergone an Excellent Customer Service Training. The next year, precisely in March 2002, he successfully completed another course with the Lagos Business School on Leading the Effective Sales Force. Afterwards in 2004, Kenneth Esenwah was admitted as an Associate of the Institute of Directors Nigeria at the Governing Council Meeting. He also attended workshops and obtained certifications in Breakthrough thinking from GAP International Inc and Diageo International London; Leadership Team and High-Performance Coaching from Guinness Nigeria Plc, Lagos; The Effective Leader Workshop Training from Price Waterhouse Coopers, Lagos; Sales and Distribution Workshop Training from Diageo SLT London; Project Management Professional Training from Phillips Consulting Limited, Lagos; Diageo Way of Brand Building (DWBBI) from Guinness Nigeria Plc, Lagos;  Game Planning/Commercial Planning Workshop in Mombasa, Kenya; and successfully attended a Strategic Planning and Management course from the prestigious Lagos Business School.

Kenneth Esenwah possess great managerial, functional and leadership skills and capabilities, and has led sales teams to achieve successful penetration of various products into new markets and also developed several effective strategies for the sale of new products to various markets segments and unlocking of sales growth exponentially. He is a thoroughbred Sales and Marketing professional who enjoys solving problems and is a source of motivation and inspiration to many young professionals in the Sales and Marketing industry.
